week of 29 November

Hola clase,

FELICIDADES!!!!
This week the last of your packets are due :)  and your test on the two concepts for the month of November are due.  This week's you will have another writing assignment where you will need to use all the grammar concepts that we have learned up to now.  This week's grammar concept- SO8 el pretérito, SO9- el futuro

Project 1:
I am placing websites for you to use for your project on winter traditions in Hispanic countries.  Since you each have a different country look for info to help you.  You will be creating a powerpoint with a minimum of 8 slides.  All writing will be in Spanish as if you are doing a current event.  the slides will be divided as presented to you in class.  SO8: you are responsible for 1-2 sentences in SIMPLE Spanish.  SO9: you are responsible for 3-4 sentences in Spanish.  Your sentences will be done in class so be prepared to have your research in class.  You will need to bring your information on December 3-4.  We will spend part of the period working on your sentences.  The power point part will need to be done at home as well as the pictures.  You will pick your country this week.  You will then choose which holiday you want to discuss.  Examples of holidays will be provided both religious and non-religious.

La semana de 19 de noviembre

Hola clase,

So this is a very short week and I am back! We will begin reviewing the work you did with the sub.  Next week those that need to present their current event will do so, I have not forgotten.  Since this is a holiday weekend there is no homework.  It is time for you to spend it relazing and with family so enjoy.  Your next homework packet on comparisons for SO8 and preterito for SO9 will be due on 29/30th November.  That same week you will have your exam on both concepts for the month of November.  SO8= affirmative/negative words and comparisons and  SO9= formal commands and preterito.  Start preparing!  Review last week's blog for the websites to help you and get some extra practice.  We are almost done with grammar concepts and will be moving into vovabulary and reading comprehension.  We will be having a mini project instead of the next current event.  We will be looking up winter/Christmas traditions in Hispanic countries.  I know some of you do not celebrate the holiday but this is a big time of year in Hispanic countries.  Remember you can always talk about the New Year's tradition instead since that is big as well. See you soon.  I missed you guys.
